I collaborated with IMIT Advisory to host a casual workshop on “How to Take the Perfect Instagram Picture”. Targeted for brands and startups, the workshop gave an overview on some basics of photography and tips on using Instagram. The audience was very engaging and asked some pertinent questions, which helped make the interactive part of the workshop more lively!
The audience was very engaging and asked some great relevant questions, which helped make the interactive part of the workshop more lively! For example, Thomas from Boltenstern brought along some jewelry for us to test on a volunteer hand model. We applied the lighting concepts from my presentation to give the pieces some dramatic flare.
It was interesting to hear what pressing problems brands may have when starting their social media presence. Here are some great questions that are good food for thought… and perhaps I will do individual classes on these topics!
- How to show services in photos when they’re not something tangible
- How to do product photography without breaking the bank
- How to shoot lifestyle photos and incorporate the brand visual tone
- How to optimize Instagram hashtags
Thank you to Bryan, Robbie and Team IMIT for organizing, and to WeWork Wan Chai for providing the venue. Also, thank you to my Assistant-slash-Instagram-boyfriend Tony Perfecto for photographing these snapshots!
